In a recent interview, We sat down with the BAE behind Beautie BAE and asked 10 questions to find out what makes her tick…

Q: Where did you come up with the name Beautie Bae?

A: Honestly, I wanted something fun and different.  Traditionally BAE stands for Before Anyone Else.  I played around with it and changed it to Beautie: Before Anything Else.

Q: What would you say is your speciality?

A: I’ve been an esthetician since 2005 and it’s what I’m really passionate about. I could work 24/7 and not notice anytime went by.  I’ve been focused (obsessed) with Microblading lately but I love anything that gives you instant result like Botox, Fillers, Peels, Facials, Lasers etc…

Q: When did you first discover this passion?

A: It was 2002 and I was fresh out of college with no direction.  My mom had this idea to open a medical spa.  It was during a training with master esthetician Marriet Van der Starre from Thalgo Cosmetics that my passion for skin care was ignited. I’ll never forget that moment.  Never in a million years would I think that 13 years later, I’d be working as a Nurse Practitioner in Aesthetics.

Q: Tea or Coffee?

A: Do I have to choose one? Coffee in the am and tea before bed.

Q: You’ve been an entrepreneur since your early 20’s. What is the best advice you’ve ever received as a woman in business?

A: Be humble, kind, practice your craft, take pride in your work and always lead by example.  Great advice!

Q: What is one thing that people would be surprised to know about you?

A: People always think I’m going to be so serious, they don’t expect me to be funny and goofy.

Q: What is your beauty secret?

A: There are so many but the most important one is; no matter how tired I am, I always wash my face before bed.  Oh, and I’m addicted to this product from Recherche Biologique called P-50.  It has dramatically changed by complexion.

Q: What quote do you live by?

A: It’s cliché but “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” It is a great quote for life and business.

Q: What is the one thing you wish you knew when you were younger?

A: Stop wasting precious time, take lots of pictures and if do what you’re passionate about, you will always be successful.  (sorry that was 3 things)

Q: What do you love most about your job?

A: Making a client feel beautiful so that they walk around all day smiling.  That’s what I love.
